Workshop Conversions
Our first priority after taking on the farm was to try and start earning some money! When a neighbour approached us asking if he could rent a barn as a workshop this gave us a great idea: as most of the old barns were of not much use agriculturally, why not rent them out to local people who were after workshops? We focused on the easiest barns to convert, doing all the work ourselves. The old granite barns were quite straightforward, just needing water and electrics installing with some re pointing on the inside and new windows and doors. We made a little compost loo and then re roofed and clad one of the concrete barns - an old calf house. There are more barns to convert which we plan to do in the future.
